Mission & Vision
The Kevin Roe Legacy Fund
Our Inspiration
Kevin Roe was passionate about working towards equity and inclusion for LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff at San José State University, and one of his dreams was an annual scholarship to support LGBTQ+ students. After his sudden death in 2025, his sisters Kathleen Roe and Dilan Roe established the Kevin Roe Legacy Fund through the Valley Health Foundation. You can visit the VHF Legacy Fund Donation Page to learn more.
The funds raised will help make Kevin’s vision a reality—providing support for future generations of LGBTQ+ students and campus partners who are actively engaged in addressing health disparities and structured inequality, confronting stigma and homophobia, and contributing to healthy communities.
Our Mission
The Kevin Roe Legacy Fund’s mission is to provide annual scholarships and awards that support LGBTQ+ students at San José State University, and potentially other Santa Clara County higher education institutions, through active fundraising, giving, and celebration of awardee contributions.
Our Vision
The Kevin Roe Legacy Fund will be a resource for annual LGBTQ+ student scholarships and awards to support an environment in which LGBTQ+ students thrive.
